Lost Rites Dungeons: All 12 Locations & Rewards

The Dark Arisen expansion adds 12 Lost Rites dungeon trials across Vermund and Battahl. You unlock them by talking to Captain Brant at the Stardrop Inn at night, open their sealed doors with the Empowered Godsbane Blade earned through the main story, and re-run them to farm unique past-Arisen gear. Everything below is current as of the Dark Arisen launch (October 9, 2026); points the community is still mapping are clearly labeled as such.

The 12 Lost Rites at a Glance

Capcom confirms 12 dungeon challenges, framed in-game as the Pathfinder's trials with rewards drawn from the equipment of past Arisens. They sit on the base-game map across Vermund and Battahl, not inside the new Norgan region. The recommended level is 20 — though like most content here, you can physically enter below the recommendation.

Fact Status and source
12 dungeon challenges (Lost Rites) Confirmed by Capcom: the Pathfinder's trials, rewarding equipment of past Arisens
Location: base-game map, Vermund plus Battahl Confirmed by Capcom: not inside the new Norgan region
Recommended level 20 Producer Q&A and launch announcement; treat as guidance, not a hard gate
Sealed blue-swirl doors Open only with the Empowered Godsbane Blade, per the thebiglead door guide; the earliest trials are passable without it
Repeatable with unique rewards Game8's Lost Rites guide describes repeatable dungeons with unique rewards you can farm
Full 12-name roster No official list as of launch; the community is still mapping individual trials (see below)

If you are deciding which DLC thread to pull first, our level recommendation guide compares the Lost Rites at 20 against Norgan at 40.

How to Unlock the Lost Rites Quest

The unlock is a Brant conversation, not an item pickup. Follow these steps in order; the full DLC entry walkthrough lives in How to Start Dark Arisen DLC.

  1. Push the main story to Vernworth. The DLC flags appear around the "Seat of the Sovran" stage. If Brant has already handed you the Eternal Ferrystone, you are far enough along.
  2. Visit the Stardrop Inn at night. Brant only offers the DLC dialogue in the evening — rest until nightfall first.
  3. Choose the dialogue option about the uncovered ruins. This starts the Lost Rites quest line. (The Norgan thread starts from a separate prompt about the new Arisen, which multiple outlets quote exactly — the ruins-side wording is described here generically because only the Norgan-side prompt is firmly on record.)
  4. Track the quest in your log and clear the trials your world state allows. Work through the accessible sites first; sealed doors and late-game world-state trials wait for later steps below.
Night Visit First, Always

Most "Brant offers nothing" reports on launch day ended at step 2. Daytime Brant runs his standard main-story business, so rest to night before assuming anything is broken.

How to Open the Sealed Doors: Empowered Godsbane Blade

Most Lost Rites trials sit behind stone doors marked with a blue swirl — Spellseal Doors. Interacting with one opens an item menu, and with nothing usable in your inventory, the door simply stays shut. There is no hidden key inside the cave and no workaround: the only answer is the Empowered Godsbane Blade, earned through the main story. The chain below follows the thebiglead door guide — a media report, not an official walkthrough, so treat its specifics accordingly.

Step What to do
1. Reach Convergence Play the main quest until you explore the strange temple risen from the sea near Harve Village and claim the Dulled Godsbane Blade.
2. Visit the scholar Carry the dulled blade to the Forbidden Magick Research Lab in Bakbattahl, where you are told it needs Wyrmslife Crystals to awaken (thebiglead reports the asking price as 15 — unverified, treat the exact count as provisional).
3. Hunt drakes and dragons Wyrmslife Crystals drop only from slain drakes and dragons. Thebiglead points to Dragonsbreath Tower and the Ancient Battleground as reliable spawns, and reports roughly 10 crystals per kill plus weak-spot bonuses — again, media-reported figures, not confirmed values.
4. Claim the Empowered blade Return to the research lab for the awakening cutscene and receive the Empowered Godsbane Blade.
5. Open every door Use the blade at any Spellseal Door to pass through. If you already hold the blade from earlier main-story progress, you can head straight to the trials without repeating this chain.
Empty Item Menu Means You Lack the Blade

An interaction prompt with nothing usable in it is simply a locked door, not broken content. Per thebiglead's guide there is no key or bypass — push the main story, earn the blade, then come back.

Why There Is No Full 12-Name List Yet

As of launch day, Capcom has published no official roster of the twelve trials by name, so this page deliberately does not present one — any site showing a complete named list with exact entrances on day one is ahead of what is verifiable. Both spec hubs for this topic are tracking the rollout live: Fextralife's Lost Rite Trials hub and Game8's Lost Rites location guide. What is already solid:

What is known Basis
Trials are spread across both Vermund and Battahl Capcom announcement; doors were visible in the base game before the DLC
The earliest trials need no blade Thebiglead notes the first encounters are easily passed and only later ones demand the sealed doors
Some trials sit behind late-game world states Game8's guide notes some Lost Rite dungeons are only available in the Unmoored World — details still emerging, treat counts and difficulty claims as provisional
Rewards tie to heroes of the past Official expansion framing: legendary equipment of past Arisens

If a sealed door refuses to cooperate even with the blade in hand, check the door section of our DLC troubleshooting guide before assuming your game is broken.

Rewards and Repeatable Farming

This is the section that separates the Lost Rites from ordinary caves: they are built to be re-run.

Reward layer Status
Unique trial rewards and themed boss loot Reported by Game8: repeatable dungeons with unique rewards you can farm.
Legendary equipment tied to heroes of the past Official expansion framing, confirmed.
Full per-dungeon drop tables Not yet compiled — exact tables are still community work-in-progress.
Launch-Week Farming Advice

Clear the blade-free trials first, earn the Empowered Godsbane Blade through the main story, then sweep the sealed trials in one pass. Re-runs are the point, so do not burn consumables speed-clearing on day one — save them for farming the trials whose loot fits your vocation. Compare standout pieces against the best weapons and armor roundup and the Relic appraisal loop before committing upgrade materials. For how these trials fit around the new region, see the Norgan region guide.

FAQ

Do I need the Dark Arisen DLC to enter the Lost Rites? Yes. The sealed doors existed in the base game as decoration, but the trials and the Brant quest line are expansion content.

What level should I be? 20 is the recommended level for the Lost Rites line. You can enter below it, but the sealed-door trials assume mid-game power and the late-game world-state trials assume far more.

Can I open the sealed doors without the Empowered Godsbane Blade? No. Per thebiglead's media guide, no key, consumable, or vocation bypass exists — the blade from the main-story Convergence chain is the single opener for the DLC doors.

Are the rewards one-time or farmable? Farmable. Game8 describes the trials as repeatable challenges with unique rewards, so re-entering to farm is the intended loop. Exact per-dungeon drop tables are still being compiled by the community.

I finished the main story already. Can I skip straight to the trials? If you already hold the Empowered Godsbane Blade from earlier main-story progress, you can head directly to the trials your world state allows once the Lost Rites quest is active — no need to repeat the blade chain.
